Cost of IVF

We heard the news that every infertile dreads....it's time to move on to IVF. We have found a great doctor that has been at the cutting edge of reproductive technology since the early eighties, so we feel as though we are in competent hands. The only problem is the cost. Mark has only been back to work for four months after almost two years of being under or unemployed. At this point, we should be able to save roughly $1200.00 a month towards our $12000.00 goal. We hope to make the total within the next six months so that leaves us with a $4800.00 deficit. Will tax returns, side jobs and a huge yard sale be enough?

Here from Mel's Make a Wish...

I can so understand and relate to the financial challenge and obstacles IVF presents. We are currently experiencing it ourselves. I really hope your wish comes true and you're able to reach your goal quickly.

Thank you for your kind comment. It looks like you're really good at crafts, do you think that you would be interested in making some 2X4 Christmas trees/decorations to sell at a local craft fair or even from your home? You could make something for every occasion from now until you reach your goal? I understand how hard it is with the IVF, we had to cash in most of our retirement savings to do it. You will be successful, never doubt!

Hi, I stumbled into your blog via Cassity's. I wanted to say I too have been struggling with infertility for years and it is such a hard journey. A few months ago we were in the same boat you guys were, until we made an amazing discovery: this blog (and countless others!) about naprotechnology. I can't say enough good things about it or about the countless success stories we've encountered and all the new hope it has brought.

We are saving too, but with so much hope, and knowing this will be the cheapest overall alternative- we will have the problem fixed for life and not ever have to worry about being dependant on pills or procedures for the rest of our lives every time we want to conceive.
I wish you and your husband the best. Please check it out. It might just change everything. We are so excited that we are working towards fixing the problem the natural way! Best wishes! -M
